About RIANA II

There is a specific thing a Sanlorenzo SL118 does that almost nothing else at 37 metres does, and RIANA II is built around it. Her master suite sits full-beam forward on the main deck, and both sides of it fold down into private balconies. Open them and the cabin stops being a room on a boat and becomes a terrace over the water, with the sea running past at eye level on either hand. It is the single reason to charter her over a conventionally laid-out yacht of the same size and money.

Francesco Paszkowski drew her, and his discipline shows in the way the volume is distributed rather than concentrated. The main deck reads as two proper zones rather than one long compromise. Aft, the salon: a deep sectional under patterned cushions, mirrored low tables, two swivel chairs turned toward a screen on the forward bulkhead. Forward, open to it through a panelled bulkhead, the dining table runs down the centre of its own room with windows on both sides and the horizon at eye level from every seat. The salon windows open, which sounds minor until an August evening at anchor in the Cyclades, when the room fills with air instead of recirculated cold.

Four further cabins sit below, each finished differently: backlit headboards, lacquer and glass, artwork chosen per room rather than bought by the metre. Ten guests in five suites, looked after by a crew of eight, which is a generous ratio at this length and shows in how the yacht is presented.

The wheelhouse is worth a look for what it says about the rest of her. A single helm chair sits between twin display stacks beneath a wraparound screen, everything within one reach, nothing added for show. It is the same logic that runs through the accommodation and the deck layout: work out what the space is for, then build exactly that.

Outside she is organised around three separate tables. The aft deck carries the everyday one, a long top flanked by teal banquettes and shaded by the deck above. The sundeck takes the evening, running nearly the full beam under a white shade sail with settees, sunpads and its own bar. A third sits forward. Nobody has to eat in the same place twice in a week, which matters more on a ten-guest charter than the brochures admit.

The transom opens onto a garage and a teak platform that becomes the centre of the day: loungers on the platform itself, and a toy list led by a 9.9-metre Onda 331GT chase boat. That is not a tender in the usual sense but a serious second vessel, and it changes what a week aboard can cover. Behind it, a 4.2-metre Avon, a three-seat jet ski, two Seabobs, paddleboards, a canoe, waterskis, wakeboard and tubes.

She is a planing GRP hull on twin MTUs, cruising at 20 knots and topping out at 28, with zero-speed and underway stabilisers rather than only the one. Greek-based and working the Aegean and the Adriatic, she can cross between island groups inside a morning and then hold steady enough at anchor for lunch on the aft deck to feel like lunch ashore.

RIANA II is not the biggest yacht available at this price. She is the one where the best cabin aboard opens onto the sea on both sides, and where the crew count says what the owner thinks the charter experience is worth.
