Portisco is a purpose-built superyacht marina on Sardinia north coast, positioned at the gateway to the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park. Its deep-water berths and calm approach make it a natural base for motor yacht charter, with fuel, provisioning and brokerage services close to hand. The harbour is quieter and less frenetic than Porto Cervo yet lies within easy reach of the Costa Smeralda restaurants and beach clubs. The charter fleet covers motor yachts from around 24 metres to over 60 metres, ranging from sporty flybridge designs to displacement expedition hulls capable of crossing to Corsica overnight. Most carry at least six double cabins, a stabilised platform for watersports, and a crew of four or more. Deck space tends to be generous, with shaded aft lounges and sun decks suited to the long Sardinian summer days. Charter rates for motor yachts based out of Portisco range from around 60,000 to over 1,000,000 euros per week before expenses. The advance provisioning allowance, typically 30 percent of the base fee, covers fuel, berth fees, food and drinks. July and August command peak rates; May, June and September offer comparable weather at meaningfully lower cost. From Portisco, itineraries naturally open northward into the La Maddalena archipelago, where the granite islands of Spargi, Budelli, Razzoli and Santa Maria offer secluded anchorages and turquoise water. The Bocche di Bonifacio separating Sardinia from Corsica adds a coastal passage of real character, with Bonifacio old town a regular overnight stop for crews heading further north.
