Six cabins on an eighty metre yacht is the most generous ratio in charter. Twelve guests occupy a hull that could comfortably carry sixteen or more, so the cabins are suites rather than rooms, and the volume normally spent on a seventh and eighth cabin goes to the spa, the beach club or the pool instead.
Nine yachts run this configuration, from seventy metres to eighty eight. Oceanco has two with Wheels and Alfa Nero, and CRN, Feadship, Nobiskrug, Damen, Dunya and Proteksan Turquoise take one each. Maltese Falcon is the sailing yacht in the group. All nine take twelve guests, seven carry a gym, six a cinema and five a pool, and La Datcha runs as a full ice class explorer.
Weekly rates run from four hundred and ninety thousand euros to nine hundred thousand, with the median at seven hundred and fifty thousand and most of the fleet between five hundred and nine hundred thousand. An advance provisioning allowance of roughly thirty percent covers fuel, food, berthing and drinks. Crew numbers rather than cabin count drive the running cost at this size.
Eighty metres crosses oceans, so the itinerary is not limited to one coastline. Summer runs the Riviera, Sardinia and the Ionian, autumn repositions through Gibraltar, and winter works Saint Barths, Antigua and the Bahamas. La Datcha reaches Kamchatka and Antarctica.
