A cinema on a classic yacht sits in a different register from the purpose-built screening rooms found on newer builds. On most classic hulls, the cinema occupies a section of the main saloon or lower deck lounge, with a drop-down screen, surround sound and soft lighting that turns a social space into a private theatre after dinner. The effect is more intimate than anything a modern open-plan yacht achieves, with the warmth of mahogany joinery, deep carpets and the particular quiet that a well-built older hull carries at anchor.
Nine classic yachts in our charter fleet offer a cinema, from the thirty five metre Alhambra to the sixty nine metre Nomad. Feadship contributes three hulls: Alhambra, Mirage and Ancallia, each a different generation of Dutch craftsmanship. Prana by Atzaro brings something entirely different, a fifty five metre phinisi with hand-carved teak interiors and an outdoor screening setup on the upper deck. Blue II, built by Turquoise Yachts, and Seahorse, an Amels fifty three metre refit, round out the fleet.
Weekly rates begin at fifty five thousand euros for Alhambra and reach three hundred and eighty thousand for Nomad. Most fall between one hundred and thirty five thousand and one hundred and ninety thousand euros. The advance provisioning allowance adds roughly thirty percent, covering fuel, food, berthing and drinks.
These yachts work the Mediterranean through summer and the Caribbean through winter, with the Amalfi coast, the Greek islands and the Windward Islands among the strongest itineraries for a classic yacht cinema charter.
