Grenada sits at the southern tip of the Windward Islands, below the main Caribbean hurricane belt, offering calm anchorages and a year-round charter season. Known as the Spice Isle for its nutmeg and cinnamon production, the island combines lush volcanic scenery with a genuinely warm local culture. Charter yachts in the 300,000 per week bracket typically run to 50 to 65 metres, crewed by ten to fourteen professionals and fitted with water sports equipment, a sun deck and well-appointed guest cabins.
The charter experience at this level pairs the yacht with a destination that rewards close exploration. Grenada offers protected anchorages at Prickly Bay and Secret Harbour in the south, a productive fish market in St George, and the remarkable Bianca C dive site just off the coast. The island is also the gateway to the Grenadines, which extend 100 nautical miles north and offer a full week of anchorages without repetition.
The advance provisioning allowance of around 30 per cent of the weekly charter fee covers fuel, food, beverages and berthing. In Grenada, fuel prices and marina fees are moderate compared with Mediterranean charter bases. High season runs from December through April, when the northeast trade winds are reliable and the sea is at its best.
From Grenada, guests can reach Carriacou in a morning passage, anchor off Sandy Island for a swim, and continue through the Tobago Cays before returning south. The range of the itinerary matches the range of the yacht at this rate.
