A pool on a motor yacht is the feature that separates a charter from a cruise. On the smaller hulls it sits flush in the sun deck, a plunge pool beside the jacuzzi. By sixty metres it grows to something you can swim a few strokes in, and at eighty metres yachts like Alfa Nero, Arrow and Alvia carry pools deep enough to stand in with counter current systems for exercise.
Eighty nine motor yachts in our charter fleet carry a pool, spanning thirty to one hundred and twenty metres and drawing from Benetti, Feadship, Oceanco, Amels, Lurssen and Turquoise among others. Twelve guests across six cabins is the dominant layout, though the forty metre band often takes ten in five. More than half the fleet adds a beach club, gym or cinema alongside the pool.
Weekly rates open at eighty thousand euros for Rehab, a thirty metre Benetti. The median sits at three hundred and eighty thousand. At the top, Kismet charters at three million and Breakthrough at three and a half million. Add an advance provisioning allowance of roughly thirty percent covering fuel, food, berthing and drinks. The western Mediterranean fills the summer, with the Riviera, Sardinia and the Balearics the most requested routes. Many yachts reposition to the Caribbean and the Bahamas from December.
