Sailing yachts in the Phi Phi Islands offer a more measured way to experience one of Southeast Asia’s most celebrated island groups. The northeast monsoon from November through April brings consistent breeze across the Andaman Sea, making passages between Ko Phi Phi Don, Ko Phi Phi Leh, and the surrounding islands genuinely enjoyable under sail. The reward for a slower pace is the chance to anchor in bays that motor yachts rush through and to arrive at sunset rather than at noon.
The sailing fleet for this region includes both performance monohulls and larger cruising yachts capable of multi-night passages. Most carry between six and twelve guests across three to six cabins, with a crew experienced in the regional weather patterns and anchorage options. Sun decks, snorkelling equipment, and a tender are standard across the fleet.
Rates for sailing charters start at around 45,000 Euros per week, with larger ocean-capable yachts reaching 390,000 Euros. The advance provisioning allowance of approximately 30 percent covers food, fuel for motoring in calms, and any local fees.
The Phi Phi Islands work well as a base for a one-week sailing circuit, taking in Phuket to the northwest, Krabi to the northeast, and Ko Lanta to the south, with the islands themselves as a centrepiece for the middle days.
