A cinema on a sailing yacht takes a different form from the dedicated screening rooms found on large motor yachts. On most sailing yachts it is an integrated space, a saloon with a retractable screen or a lower-deck lounge that doubles as a viewing room. The effect is the same: a proper film experience at anchor, after a day under sail.
Ten sailing yachts in our charter fleet carry a cinema. The fleet includes Black Pearl, the hundred and six metre Oceanco, Maltese Falcon from Perini Navi at eighty eight metres, and Vertigo from Alloy Yachts at sixty seven. At the other end, Genevieve and Maxita prove that a yacht of thirty six to thirty nine metres can carry a proper viewing system without sacrificing living space.
Weekly rates start at seventy five thousand euros for Genevieve, a thirty six metre Alloy Yachts sloop, and Maxita at the same level. Ohana, a fifty metre Fitzroy Yachts, charters at a hundred and seventy five thousand, which is where the median sits. Rosehearty from Perini Navi goes for two hundred and twenty five thousand. Black Pearl commands eight hundred and thirty thousand at the top. Add an advance provisioning allowance of roughly thirty percent for fuel, food, berthing and drinks.
