Heesen Yachts, based in Oss in the Netherlands, builds fast semi-displacement and full-planing motor yachts using composite and aluminium construction that delivers speeds well above the displacement norm. In the Bahamas, that speed advantage is most felt on the Nassau to Staniel Cay passage: a Heesen that cruises at 18 to 22 knots covers the 80 nautical miles in under five hours at comfortable revs, allowing guests to depart Nassau after breakfast and arrive in time for lunch at anchor off Big Major Spot. The Heesen fleet available for charter in the Exumas numbers around six vessels from 40 to 55 metres, all fitted with modern AV systems, beach clubs, and professional crews of ten to fourteen. Charter weeks from December through April take full advantage of the Bahamas conditions, with the fast passage time between islands adding flexibility to the itinerary: it is feasible to reach Warderick Wells, Staniel Cay, and Black Point in three days, then return north via the Highbourne Cay approach. Weekly rates for Heesen yachts in this region start from around 120,000 euros, rising to 250,000 euros for the largest and most recent builds. The advance provisioning allowance covers fuel, which is higher than for displacement yachts at equivalent speeds, plus provisioning, marina fees, and crew expenses.
