The United Arab Emirates brings together seven emirates along a Gulf coastline that stretches from the Musandam peninsula in the north to the border with Qatar in the west, and a small strip of Indian Ocean coast at Fujairah in the east. A crewed motor yacht here navigates between the urban spectacle of Dubai’s Marina and Palm Jumeirah, the cultural landmarks of Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island, the mountain-backed bays of Ras Al Khaimah and the calmer waters of the eastern coast, all within a few days’ comfortable motor yacht cruising.
The UAE charter fleet is compact but well-curated, with motor yachts selected for the Gulf’s particular conditions. Shallow water depths, warm sea temperatures and generally settled weather for much of the year suit vessels designed for comfort and shade rather than ocean crossing. Guest numbers typically run from four to twelve, and crew standards reflect the UAE’s position as one of the world’s most demanding hospitality markets.
Weekly charter rates for motor yachts across the UAE range from approximately 50,000 to 350,000 euros, depending on vessel length, specification and the season. An advance provisioning allowance of roughly 30 per cent covers fuel, food, beverages and marina fees. The most comfortable charter season runs from October through April, with peak demand from December through February.
The UAE’s diversity as a charter destination is its strongest argument. Dubai’s skyline, Abu Dhabi’s cultural district, Ras Al Khaimah’s mountain coast and the eastern shores of Fujairah, facing the Gulf of Oman rather than the Arabian Gulf, all reward a motor yacht’s range. A two-week charter can connect all of them without repeating an anchorage.
