Walkaround decks are a very small category on charter and an unusually distinguished one. Two yachts in our fleet carry the designation, and they could hardly be less alike. Maltese Falcon is an eighty eight metre Perini Navi sailing yacht, and the other is a forty nine metre Heesen motor yacht.
A walkaround deck means uninterrupted side decks running the full length of the yacht, wide enough to pass comfortably and properly guarded at the rail. On a sailing yacht of this size it is a working requirement as much as a comfort, since crew move constantly between the cockpit and the foredeck. On a motor yacht it is a design decision that trades interior beam for circulation, and it makes the whole deck feel connected rather than divided into separate zones.
The two yachts quote two hundred and sixty five thousand and four hundred and ninety thousand euros a week. Both take twelve guests in six cabins. An advance provisioning allowance of around thirty percent covers fuel, food, berthing and drinks, and on a yacht the size of Maltese Falcon the crew complement is a significant part of what you are paying for.
