Singapore’s equatorial climate stays warm year-round, so cruising is possible in any month, though the northeast monsoon from November to January brings the heaviest rain and roughest seas in the surrounding straits. Transboundary haze from agricultural burning in Sumatra and Kalimantan can also affect air quality between August and October in some years. April to June generally offers the calmest, clearest conditions for arriving or departing by sea.
Changi Airport (SIN), regularly ranked among the world’s best, sits around 20 kilometres from the marinas of Sentosa Cove and the city centre, with direct flights from nearly every major hub in Asia, Europe and Australia. Its scale and connections make Singapore one of the easiest cities in Southeast Asia to join or leave a charter, whether guests are starting a cruise here or flying in partway through a longer Asian itinerary.
ONE°15 Marina at Sentosa Cove is the most established option for visiting yachts, close to the city and Sentosa’s own attractions. Marina at Keppel Bay and Raffles Marina, on the western side of the island, offer alternatives with their own customs facilities. All three sit within a short taxi ride of Marina Bay and the wider city, so the choice usually comes down to berth availability.
Two to three days cover the main sights, Marina Bay Sands, Gardens by the Bay and a walk through the older ethnic quarters, without feeling rushed. Most charter guests treat Singapore as a gateway rather than a standalone destination, using it as a provisioning stop and starting point for cruises onward into Indonesia’s Riau Islands or north toward Malaysia’s Langkawi archipelago.
Foreign vessels must clear customs, immigration and quarantine on arrival, arranged through the receiving marina and Singapore’s port and immigration authorities. ONE°15 Marina at Sentosa Cove began offering round-the-clock clearance in September 2026, the first marina in Singapore to do so, removing the old restriction to standard office hours. Clearance still needs booking in advance, but the process itself typically takes well under an hour for a private yacht.
