SANSSOUCI STAR is a magnificent 54-metre classic motor yacht built by the respected German shipyard Husumer Schiffswerft in Husum and originally launched in 1982, with subsequent extensions in 1984 and 2001 and a comprehensive refit programme keeping her in beautiful condition. One of very few large yachts remaining today that genuinely echo the traditional grandeur of a golden age of travel, she was originally commissioned by a wealthy German industrialist and is a rare and characterful survivor, epitomising German precision and craftsmanship. Her classic elegance is immediately apparent in her strong, timeless profile, with a high, sharply raked bow, an elongated foredeck, tall topsides for ample interior volume and a graceful vertical stern, while portholes along the lower deck, prominent strakes and open gunwales complete the look of a true classic. A spacious deck overhang over the main deck aft creates a wonderful sheltered aft-deck saloon area, one of many generous spaces aboard. Built on a full-displacement steel hull and superstructure and holding RINA commercial class, she is exceptionally seaworthy and stable, fitted with a large gyroscopic stabiliser, and offers genuine worldwide, long-range seagoing capability with a range of several thousand nautical miles, making her just as suited to relaxed coast-hopping as to long ocean passages. Her interior is traditional and classic in styling, exuding a timeless sense of grandeur while providing enormous versatility. The main deck is home to a spacious saloon complete with an English-style bar and a dining room equipped with two large tables seating up to 18 guests, ideal for entertaining on a grand scale, and elsewhere she offers comfortable, characterful lounges, a well-equipped gym and a flybridge with sunbathing areas. Accommodation is arranged for up to 12 guests in seven staterooms, offering exceptional flexibility as the cabins can be configured as doubles or twins to suit any party. The master suite occupies a prime position on the owner’s deck and is a retreat in its own right, with a king-size bed, a private sitting room, an office, a gym and its own private aft deck, along with a well-appointed en-suite bathroom. Two VIP double cabins are located on the main deck, while two further double cabins and two twins are situated on the lower deck, all with en-suite facilities, and there is additional accommodation for a substantial owner’s staff and security team in addition to her professional crew. A dedicated crew of six, under the command of an experienced captain, ensures attentive and discreet service throughout. Powered by twin MTU engines, SANSSOUCI STAR cruises comfortably at around 12 knots with a top speed of some 15 knots, and carries a fast 40-knot tender along with a good selection of water toys. Cruising the Mediterranean, she offers charter guests a genuinely rare and evocative experience, the chance to step aboard a true classic superyacht and enjoy the timeless grandeur, vast interior volume and worldwide capability of one of the most distinctive and characterful charter yachts afloat.
