The Tobago Cays Marine Park anchors the finest itineraries in the southern Grenadines, and at 300,000 euros per week the charter yachts available are superyachts of 65 to 75 metres with crews of 12 or 13, designed to operate in tropical waters for extended periods. These vessels carry beach clubs, stabilisers, dive programmes and the kind of interior specification that sustains a week in the Grenadines without any dependence on land-based facilities. Horseshoe Reef encloses a shallow lagoon populated by hawksbill turtles feeding in sea-grass meadows, and the passage from the outer anchorage to the reef is itself a short snorkel of extraordinary clarity. Around the marine park, Mayreau’s Salt Whistle Bay is a five-mile sail west, enclosed by sand and sheltered from the swell.
