A pool on a forty metre yacht is a feat of naval architecture. At this length every square metre on deck is contested, and choosing to give over a section of the sun deck or aft deck to a pool means the designer believed it would define the yacht. Eighteen forty metre yachts in our charter fleet carry one, representing the most committed builders at this size.
Benetti accounts for three hulls, including Northern Escape and Alpha Waves. Conrad Shipyard contributes Ace and Extra Time, both carrying pools that double as plunge pools when underway. Feadship is represented by Never Enough, one of the most refined forty metre yachts in the market. Rossinavi, Sanlorenzo, Baglietto, Custom Line and Tecnomar round out a fleet that takes in Italian, Dutch and Turkish building traditions.
Weekly rates start at a hundred and six thousand euros for Never Enough from Feadship and reach three hundred and fifty thousand for This Is It, a Tecnomar with one of the largest pools in the forty metre class. The median sits at two hundred thousand, with an advance provisioning allowance of roughly thirty percent covering fuel, food, berthing and drinks.
The fleet splits the year between the western Mediterranean and the Caribbean. The Riviera, Sardinia and the Balearics fill the summer, with the shallow anchorages of Formentera and the Costa Smeralda particularly well suited to this draught.
