Kyparissi is one of the Peloponnese’s most secluded coastal villages, sitting below steep limestone cliffs in a bay that opens southwest toward the Myrtoum Sea. It is reachable by road only through a single mountain track, which means the village retains a quiet that is almost extinct on more accessible stretches of the Greek coast. A motor yacht charter here puts you among the first vessels from outside Greece that most Kyparissi residents encounter each summer season.
The 45 motor yachts available in Greek waters range from 20-metre day-capable vessels to flagship superyachts. Most base in Athens or Corfu at the start of the season and work their way through the Saronic Gulf, Peloponnese coastline and Ionian islands. Kyparissi sits on the natural route between Spetses and the Ionian, making it an excellent overnight or lunch stop rather than an isolated destination in itself.
Weekly charter rates for Greek motor yachts run from approximately 15,000 to over 200,000 euros before the advance provisioning allowance. The allowance, typically 30 percent of the base fee, covers fuel, berthing, food and drinks. There is no commercial marina at Kyparissi; anchoring off the village or taking a stern line to the small quay is standard. Fuel loading needs to be planned at a larger port ahead of time.
Motor yachts cruise from Kyparissi toward Elafonisos and the Mani in the south, or north toward Spetses and the Saronic Gulf. The Vatika Bay to the south is a standout stopover for clear water and calm anchorage.
