The slide typically launches from the sun deck or the bridge deck and drops guests into the sea alongside the hull, turning idle hours at anchor into the most talked about part of the week. Some are fixed installations designed into the yacht’s superstructure, while others are inflatable units the crew rigs for the day.
Fifty seven motor yachts in the charter fleet carry a waterslide, spanning twenty nine to ninety seven metres. Benetti builds the largest group with nine hulls, followed by Feadship with eight and Amels with four. The fifty five to sixty three metre range holds the densest cluster, though the feature appears across every size bracket from compact flybridge cruisers to the largest superyachts.
Weekly charter rates open at eighty thousand euros for Vivaldi, a twenty nine metre Monte Carlo. The median sits close to two hundred and ninety four thousand euros. At the top of the fleet, Sophia charters at one million eight hundred thousand and Lady S at one million seven hundred and fifty thousand. Add an advance provisioning allowance of roughly thirty percent for fuel, food, berthing and drinks. August commands the highest rates in the Mediterranean.
Summer itineraries centre on the western Mediterranean, where the Riviera, Sardinia and the Balearics provide sheltered anchorages. From December, the fleet crosses to Saint Barths, the Grenadines and the Bahamas. A waterslide works best in calm water at anchor, making protected bays the natural setting.
