Swedish Inboard Sailing Yachts for Sale

Swedish Inboard Sailing for Sale

Curated Selection

Swedish yards install auxiliary engines the way they do everything else, which is thoroughly and with an eye on the next forty years. On a coast where the season is short, the water is cold and the nearest yard may be a long way off, an installation that can be reached and serviced matters more than one that is merely neat. The Yacht Collection lists Swedish inboard sailing yachts.

The engineering priorities are distinctive. Engine beds are laminated deep into the hull, compartments are insulated properly against both noise and cold, and access is designed in rather than sacrificed to joinery. Diesel heating is almost universal, drawing from the same fuel supply, which means the installation has to work reliably in temperatures that would defeat a Mediterranean boat.

Corrosion protection receives particular attention. Cold brackish Baltic water behaves differently from warm salt water, so anodes, bonding and isolation are specified carefully and worth inspecting closely on any purchase. At survey, review engine hours against the service book, check the heat exchanger and exhaust elbow, and inspect shaft, cutless bearing and seal at lift out. Then examine the diesel heater and calorifier, which see heavy use in Nordic seasons and are expensive to replace. Access is often the best of any European builder, which keeps servicing affordable for the life of the boat. Browse the Swedish inboard sailing yachts available and speak to our brokers.
