Inflatable toys are the least glamorous and most reliably used kit on a charter yacht. Forty eight in our fleet carry a proper selection, running from twenty four metres to the ninety five metre O’Pari, with a median length of forty eight metres.
The category covers everything that arrives flat and gets pumped up: slides, climbing walls, trampolines, floating docks and the assorted rings that keep children occupied for a week. It is a family category more than a luxury one, and the numbers show it. Forty two of these yachts are motor and six are sailing. Benetti leads with five, then Feadship with four and Heesen with three, and twenty seven of the forty eight take the full twelve guests. Arrow, Loon, Vertigo and Formosa are all in the group.
Rates run from forty one thousand euros a week to one million one hundred and fifty thousand, with the median at a hundred and eighty seven thousand. An advance provisioning allowance of around thirty percent covers fuel, food, berthing and drinks. Ask what is actually on board, since the term covers a wide range and inventories vary more here than anywhere else.
You want sheltered anchorages and a crew who will spend the morning inflating things. The Balearics, the Ionian and the Grenadines all work. Send us your dates and we will show you what is open.
