Sun pads are the simplest luxury on a charter yacht and among the most used. A hundred and eighty seven yachts in our fleet carry proper ones, running from twenty four metres to a hundred and twenty two, with a median length of forty five metres.
The good ones are on the foredeck. A well specified bow area gives you a large pad, a windbreak, and enough distance from the saloon that it feels private, which is why guests migrate there after lunch. Sun deck pads work differently, closer to the bar and the jacuzzi and more sociable. A hundred and seventy two of these yachts are motor and thirteen are sailing. Benetti leads with eighteen, then Feadship with fourteen, and Sanlorenzo and Heesen with nine each.
Rates run from nineteen thousand five hundred euros a week to three million, with the median at a hundred and eighty five thousand. An advance provisioning allowance of around thirty percent covers fuel, food, berthing and drinks. Shade is worth asking about, since a bimini or a retractable awning turns a foredeck from unusable into the best space on board.
