Water skiing needs a boat that can pull properly and a crew who can drive, and ninety yachts in our charter fleet have both. The group runs from twenty five metres to ninety seven, with a median of fifty two, and includes Lady S, O’Pari and Sophia.
The requirement is a tender with the power and the wake profile to tow, plus a driver and an observer, which makes this a crew question more than an equipment one. Sixty two of these yachts are motor and twenty eight are sailing, an unusually high sailing proportion driven by the larger sloops that carry proper sports tenders. CRN leads with seven, followed by Feadship and Alloy Yachts with six each, then Benetti and Perini Navi with four. Fifty six of the ninety take the full twelve guests.
Rates run from eighteen thousand five hundred euros a week to one million eight hundred thousand, with the median at two hundred thousand. An advance provisioning allowance of around thirty percent covers fuel, food, berthing and drinks, and towing burns tender fuel faster than anything else on board. Skis, wakeboards and ropes are carried as standard across the group.
