Fethiye is the largest natural harbour on Turkey Turquoise Coast, a wide bay sheltered by Sovalye Island and lined with a marina capable of handling yachts well beyond 50 metres. The four motor yachts based in this area benefit from that infrastructure while using Fethiye primarily as a departure point: the real charter territory lies in the bays, islands and lagoons within a short cruise. Oludeniz, the famous Blue Lagoon, is 30 minutes by motor yacht from the Fethiye anchorage and remains one of the most photographed stretches of water in the Mediterranean. Butterfly Valley, accessible only by sea, sits a few miles further along the cliff coast. Gemiler Island, a Lycian site with Byzantine chapel ruins above a pebble beach, is a half-hour cruise in the other direction. The four motor yachts operating here range from 35 to 45 metres, with standard configurations including pools, beach clubs and an array of watertoys. Charter rates for motor yachts in Fethiye start at approximately 30,000 euros per week for a 35-metre yacht and rise to 130,000 euros for the largest vessels in July and August. The advance provisioning allowance of 25 to 30 percent covers fuel, food, marina fees and crew gratuity. Shoulder months from late May through June and again in September deliver better rates and more private anchorages.
