Menton is the last French town before the Italian border on the Riviera, its pastel-coloured facades rising above a sheltered port that dates to medieval times. For charter guests it represents the quieter end of the coast, with the baroque Basilica San Michele overlooking the old harbour and a covered market that supplies the finest local produce to provisioning crews. A 50 metre charter yacht in the Menton area adds a sky lounge, a beach club and a crew of ten to twelve to this eastern Riviera setting.

The advance provisioning allowance for fuel, food, port fees and water sports adds 30 to 35 per cent on top. The season runs from May to October with July and August at the peak. June and September offer excellent value on this quieter stretch of coast.
From Menton the Italian Riviera at Bordighera, San Remo and Imperia is within easy reach to the east, while Monaco, Beaulieu-sur-Mer and the full Riviera circuit lies to the west.
