The beach club is the single most significant change in superyacht design of the past two decades. What was once a lazarette full of ropes and fenders is now a water level living space, and for many charter guests it becomes the room where the week actually happens.
A proper beach club sits at the stern on the lower deck, opening onto a swim platform and often flanked by fold-down terraces that extend the floor out over the water on both sides. Inside you will typically find a bar, seating, a shower and direct access to the toy garage, with a gym, sauna or hammam behind it on larger yachts. The best examples feel continuous with the sea rather than separated from it, with the platform submerged just enough to create a shallow shelving beach.
The practical effect is that swimming stops being an event. Guests move between the water, the shade and a drink without climbing a deck, which suits mixed groups, weaker swimmers and long afternoons at anchor. It also keeps the toys close, so a seabob or a paddleboard takes seconds to launch rather than a crew evolution.
